The CU250S-2 Control Unit is part of the modular SINAMICS G120 inverter (comprising power unit, control unit, operator panel). The control unit is suitable for single-motor drives with high requirements placed on the speed control. Extended safety functions as well as a large number of I/O allow complex applications to be addressed. For vector control, two encoders (position and speed) can be connected. This extension allows the device to be used for hoist/swivel/gantry and slewing applications. The CU250S-2 Control Unit controls and monitors the power unit (Power Module) and the connected motors; several control modes can be selected. It facilitates communication to a local or central control system as well as to the monitoring equipment – and is used to connect all process-related auxiliary equipment and external components (sensors, valves, contactors, etc.) The comprehensive I/O interfaces, the fieldbus interfaces and the additional software functions optimally support its use in general machinery construction. The CU250S-2 is equipped as standard with the integrated safety functions Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1) and Safe Brake Control (SBC). Further, the integrated safety functions – Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Speed Monitor (SSM) and Safe Direction (SDI) – can be enabled with the safety license. The following integrated communication versions are available: CU250S-2 with USS and Modbus RTU protocols, CU250S-2 DP PROFIBUS and CU250S-2 PN PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and CU250S-2 CANopen. The Control Unit can be operated with the following SINAMICS power units: PM240-2 (0.55 kW to 132 kW) and PM240 (up to 250 kW). SINAMICS - simply my drive!
