FI/LS-Schalter (RCBOs) bieten Personen- und Sachschutz sowie einen Schutz vor elektrisch gezündeten Bränden gemäß DIN VDE 0100-410 und DIN VDE 0100-530. Sie gewährleisten Schutz von Einphasenstromkreisen gegen Überlast und Kurzschlussströme, Schutz bei sinusförmigen Wechselströmen und pulsierenden Strömen mit glattem Gleichfehlerstrom-Anteil von bis zu 6 mA gegen Erde. Sowie Fehlerschutz (Schutz bei indirektem Berühren), zusätzlichen Schutz (mit IΔn ≤30 mA) und Brand-schutz (mit IΔn ≤300 mA). Sie erfüllen die Produktnormen IEC/EN 61009-1, IEC/EN 61009-2-1.
Die Bestimmungen nach DIN EN 45545 (Brand- und Rauchschutznorm) R22-R26 und die Kategorie 1 - Klasse A und Klasse B nach IEC 61373 (Schock- und Vibrationsfestigkeit) machen den DS201 AT fit für den Einsatz in Schienenfahrzeugen.
