S7-SCL combines language elements from high-level language programming, e.g. serial loops, alternative branches and jump lists, with PLC-typical language expansions such as the addressing of inputs and outputs or starting and querying of times and counters. S7-SCL corresponds to the textual high-level language ST (Structured Text) defined in the standard IEC 61131-3 and fulfills base level and reusability level requirements acc. to PLCopen. SCL is a fundamental part of STEP 7 Professional (TIA Portal).
